Youth Entrepreneur Institute could not exist without our supporters and partners. We are so grateful for every dollar, every donated item, and every minute volunteered. 

A total of 68 individuals volunteered their time in 2016 with our students.  Their time as Pitch Panelists, Pitch Mentors, Career Guest Conference Participants, Design and Maker Gurus, and Workshop Facilitators totaled nearly 250 hours.  We are so appreciative of all of our 2016 volunteers.

DEPARTMENT OF EMPLOYMENT SERVICES

The Department of Employment Services (DOES) provides comprehensive employment services to ensure a competitive workforce, full employment, life-long learning, economic stability and the highest quality of life for all District residents. In 2017, DOES awarded a $100,000 grant to support YEI’s Smart Hustle programming.

EAST OF THE RIVER STRENGTHENING COLLABORATIVE & CFSA

The mission of East River Family Strengthening Collaborative, Inc. (ERFSC) is to empower families, youth, seniors and communities to become more self-sufficient through integrated and collaborative community based services utilizing evidence based practices that are family focused and person-centered. In 2017, ERFSC awarded a $35,000 grant to support YEI’s Family Hustle programming.

Saylor Academy

Saylor Academy is a nonprofit initiative working since 2008 to offer free and open online courses to all who want to learn.Saylor Academy allows our students to can earn tuition-free college credit.

ACT

ACT is a mission-driven, non-profit organization dedicated to helping people achieve education and workplace success. We are trusted as a national leader in college and career readiness, providing high-quality assessments grounded in nearly 60 years of research. While millions of individuals take the ACT test each year, that's just one aspect of our work. From elementary school through career, ACT offers individuals a uniquely integrated set of solutions designed to provide personalized insights throughout their life.

COMMUNITY PARTNERS

DPR

The DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) provides quality urban recreation and leisure services for residents and visitors to the District of Columbia. DPR supervises many of the District of Columbia's recreation/community centers. YEI is proud to be partnering with Malcolm X Opportunity Center and DPRon YEI’s Smart Hustle Art Studio, which will be coming to MXOCin late 2017.

DC HOUSING AUTHORITY

The District of Columbia Housing Authority (DCHA) provides quality affordable housing to extremely low- through moderate-income households, fosters sustainable communities, and cultivates opportunities for residents to improve their lives. DCHA is recognized as a national leader among public housing authorities for its innovative approaches.  YEI is proud to be partnering with DCHA on YEI’s Cosmetic Chemistry Lab and Community Garden, which will be coming to Langston Dwellingin late 2017.
