Zo’nique started her business in 2025 as part of YEI’s inaugural middle school Smart Hustle Jr. weekend program at the Made By Youth Studio. During the school year, she launched Ellenaisa Junk Cases & Art, creating custom junk phone cases and custom art canvases.
Zo’nique participated in her first pop-up shop this school year and has vended at several events. She is continuing to build enough product to vend more consistently while also taking custom orders from customers.
This summer, Zo’nique is rebranding and expanding her business into Glow Ink Bloom, a henna artistry brand focused on creativity, self-expression, custom freestyle artwork, and meaningful designs for special occasions.
As she prepares to enter high school, Zo’nique is growing from a custom phone case and art business into a broader creative brand that includes henna, art, custom designs, and customer-centered experiences.

Meet Zo’nique.
My name is Zo’nique, and I am an incoming ninth-grade student with a passion for creativity and self-expression through art.
At Glow Ink Bloom, I create beautiful, handcrafted henna designs for every occasion, including bridal celebrations, festivals, special events, and custom freestyle artwork.
Every design is carefully created using high-quality henna to provide stunning, long-lasting body art that celebrates each client’s unique style. My goal is to help people express themselves with confidence while creating meaningful designs they will love.
My entrepreneurial journey began with a custom phone case business. As I prepare to enter high school, I have expanded my passion into henna artistry because I believe art is a powerful way to express who you are.

Smart Hustle Abroad
One of three middle school students selected for YEI’s inaugural Smart Hustle Abroad experience.
Zo’nique was selected as one of three middle school students for YEI’s inaugural Smart Hustle Abroad program. Through the experience, she had the opportunity to participate in a global service project, market her business in multiple states, and expand her view of what entrepreneurship can become.
She also participated in college tours and explored potential locations where she could network, build relationships, and think about future opportunities to expand her business.

Rebranding, adding henna, building inventory, and preparing for consistent pop-ups.
Zo’nique is focused on growing enough inventory and booking-ready services so she can participate in pop-up shops more consistently while continuing to take custom orders.
Her next steps include developing Glow Ink Bloom, practicing henna designs, improving her display, taking strong product photos, preparing for more markets, and continuing to grow as one of YEI’s summer MBSYEP continuing businesses.
