Brand Story

Fashion with a passion, created by one of YEI’s youngest entrepreneurs.

Journey is one of YEI’s elementary youth entrepreneurs and participates in YEI’s Smart Hustle Jr. school-year program at Ketcham Elementary. She started in school year 2024 and has been consistent in the program ever since.

Her business, Pink Art, is a clothing brand that sells T-shirts, sweaters, and hoodies. Journey describes Pink Art as “fashion with a passion,” offering limited-edition pieces and affordable prices ranging from $15 to $30.

Journey is known for consistently vending, selling out at Made By Youth markets, and showing up when she needs to create more inventory. Even when YEI did not have an official elementary summer program last summer, Journey joined the Bard studio alongside MBSYEP students so she could keep making shirts and growing her business.

One of Journey’s proud accomplishments is that she gave a shirt to the D.C. Mayor. She is now preparing to rejoin YEI this summer, continue building Pink Art, and pitch at KidBizCON.

“Pink Art is fashion with a passion.”

Journey was selected as one of two elementary school students for YEI’s inaugural Smart Hustle Abroad program. Through the experience, she had the opportunity to participate in a global service project, market her business in multiple states, and expand her view of what entrepreneurship can become.

She also participated in college tours and explored potential locations where she could network, build relationships, and think about future opportunities to expand Pink Art.
